Nepal Academy Pays Tribute to Yugkabi Siddicharan Shrestha on His 112th Birth Anniversary

Kathmandu:  The Nepal Academy held a commemorative event on Tuesday to mark the 112th birth anniversary of Yugkabi Siddicharan Shrestha. The occasion was observed with a tribute-paying ceremony organized by the Academy at Kamaladi, Kathmandu. During the event, floral offerings were made to the statue of Shrestha, and his significant contributions to Nepali language and literature were highlighted.

In recognition of his literary achievements, Yugkabi Shrestha's works were lauded for their role in enriching the cultural landscape of Nepal. Academy Chancellor Bhupal Rai emphasized that Shrestha's literary creations played a crucial part in raising awareness among the people and advocating for social justice during the struggle for democracy in the country.

Renowned literary writer Bairagi Kainla praised Yugkabi's enduring literary legacy, emphasizing that his works still resonate and remain relevant today. Kainla urged the younger generation to recognize and appreciate Shrestha's invaluable contributions to Nepali language and literature.

Academy member Baba Basnet emphasized the importance of Yugkabi's literature in sensitizing the public about their rights. He called for further research and analysis of Shrestha's literary writings to delve deeper into their significance and impact.

The event also featured captivating renditions of popular songs and poems by the esteemed literary figure, Siddicharan Shrestha. The performances paid homage to his artistic prowess and celebrated his lasting influence on the Nepali literary landscape.
